61 missing explosive-laden trucks sent to Raj, MP, Maharashtra

Sagar (MP), Aug 17 (PTI) The 61 explosive-laden trucks that had gone missing in the last four months were sent to various places in Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, the MP police said here today. "We have received information that out of the 61 trucks laden with explosives and gelatin sticks, 26 were sent to Bhilwara in Rajasthan, 32 in Ahmednagar in Maharashtra and 3 to Bioara in Madhya Pradesh," Additional Superintendent of Police (Sagar) Manoj Singh told PTI here. Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police V K Suryavanshi said Sagar police has sent three teams to Ahmednagar, Bhilwara and Dholpur in search of the missing trucks carrying about 600 tonnes of explosives worth Rs 1.30 crore. The explosives were sent over a period of four months between April to July.

Four persons, one from Rajgarh and three from Sagar, have been booked under various sections of the Explosives Act in connection with the case, he said. On the basis of investigation, police have registered a case against Shivcharan Heda of B M Traders, Jaikishen Aswani of Rajgarh, the owner of Ganesh explosives, Devendra Singh Thakur and his accountant Rajendra Choubey, he added.

The 61 trucks laden with explosives and gelatin sticks, sent from Rajasthan Explosives and Chemicals Limited in Dholpur of Rajasthan to a Sagar-based trading company Ganesh explosives between April to July, had mysteriously gone missing during transportation.
